Troubleshooting

Q: I get a box that pops up asking for my password every time I send/receive.
A: Make sure you are using the correct password. To check, go to www.faithhighway.com/mail and try logging in there. If you cannot log on there, contact your administrator.  If you can log in, go back into the Account Settings in Outlook and make sure you have followed step 6 above.

Q: Every time I send a message, it bounces back immediately.
A: Make sure you have followed step 6 above. If you have followed step 6, follow the steps below:

1. In the Account Settings box, click the 'More
Settings' button.
2. Click the 'Advanced' tab.
3. In the field for 'Outgoing server (SMTP)', replace '25' with '366'.
4. Click 'OK'
5. Click 'Next'
6. Click 'Finish'

Q: I have typed '366' into the 'Outgoing server (SMTP)' field, but I'm still not able to send mail.
A: Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and find out if they require you to use their Outgoing Server. Go back to step 4 and replace the 'Outgoing mail server (SMTP)' with the one they provide you.

Q: I'm able to send e-mail but not receive any of it. Why is this?
A: The most common solution to this issue that we find deals with what are called the MX records of your domain. MX records are like the Name Servers of your domain - it indicates where the mail is routed to. In this case, your MX records can be found by following these steps:

a) Go to www.iptools.com. On this site you will see 'DNS Lookup' as a choice. Click the down arrow next to the A option, choose MX, and then put in your domain (ex : mychurch.com, without the www.) in the box to the left. Then click 'Go'.

b)The address of our mail servers is mail.faithhighway.com. If this is not displayed in the results and you would like to have us host your e-mail, then make sure your Name Servers are pointed to us. This can be accomplished by following the same steps as in the a) above, but instead of looking for MX you will look at NS.

Our NS Servers are as follows:
ns1.faithhiway.com
ns2.faithhiway.com

*Note the spelling of 'faithhiway'

If your Name Servers and / or MX records are pointed to us, and there is still an issue then contact Tech Support by filling out a ticket at www.faithhighway.com/support, or by calling us at 877-703-2484.

Q: I've got e-mail accounts on my current domain through another provider. Will those accounts automatically transfer to faithHighway?
A: No. faithHighway's mail system is a completely separate system from the one you're currently using. There is no way to have accounts automatically transfer. However, they can be recreated on faithHighway's mail system. In fact, they will need to be recreated before the GoLive process takes place to ensure that those accounts continue to collect incoming mail. Contact faithHighway for information on setting these up.

Q:I have mail in my account of my old provider : will all of that old mail transfer to my new faithHighway mail account?
A: No, it won't. You'll be starting with a squeaky-clean inbox. Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer the actual messages from one mail provider to another. It would be wise to backup the important emails with your old provider before canceling service with them.
